12 held for Bengal violence over music being performed in Ram Navami procession| India Information

Violence broke out in Murshidabad district of poll-bound West Bengal on Friday in the course of the Ram Navami processions, with incidents of stone-pelting, vandalism and arson reported from a number of places.

The incident unfolded after an argument over music being performed when a big procession headed in the direction of Mackenzie Park in Raghunathganj. The argument escalated right into a conflict between the members and locals, PTI reported, citing officers.

Police mentioned no less than 12 folks have been arrested and prohibitory orders have been imposed in Raghunathganj city in Murshidabad district. A number of individuals are mentioned to have been injured within the incident.
