A person was killed and his household was attacked on Saturday night, allegedly by their neighbours, over a dispute on irrigation of their agricultural fields in Dehradun, police mentioned. The incident has led to communal tensions within the space and a big police contingent has been deployed in an effort to forestall additional escalation.
In line with police, Vinod Kumar and his household had an ongoing dispute with their neighbour, Imtiaz, over water provide of their fields. On Saturday night, the altercation resulted in violence, resulting in the demise of Kumar. As per the grievance, Ashok Kumar mentioned that they’d an ongoing dispute concerning water with their neighbour, Imtiyaz. “Round 6 pm on Saturday, Razzak, Imtiyaz, Aman, Yunus, Shahbaz, Sharafal Ali, Masoom, Adil, Shamoon, Salman, Javed, Intazar (all booked), together with about 30–35 different individuals, got here to our home. They have been armed with sticks, wood planks, and a hammer. Performing along with a typical intention, they launched a murderous assault on members of our household,” the grievance mentioned.
