JAMMU: A bridge washed away in a cloudburst that killed 65 individuals at Chishoti in Jammu & Kashmir’s Kishtwar district final Aug was restored by Border Roads Organisation in 12 days. Operationalisation of the 140ft triple double bolstered Bailey bridge restored highway connectivity between Gulabgarh and the distant Machail area.Jammu-based defence PRO Col Sunil Bartwal mentioned, “The restoration marks the top of a protracted disruption attributable to the devastating cloudburst, which washed away the present bridge at Chishoti and severed the one highway hyperlink to the distant Machail area.”“The operation concerned intensive website preparation, building of abutments, transportation of bridging shops, launching of the Bailey bridge and growth of strategy roads beneath difficult terrain and climate circumstances,” Col Bartwal mentioned.
