Don’t deploy Indian sailors on ships passing by means of Hormuz: India tells delivery corporations | India Information

The Directorate Normal of Maritime Administration (DGMA) has directed delivery firms to keep away from deploying Indian sailors on vessels travelling by means of the Strait of Hormuz.

In an advisory to ship house owners, ship managers, and personnel administration corporations, the DGMA warned towards deployment of Indian sailors on ships which might be passing by means of the Strait of Hormuz.

“In view of the heightened safety scenario within the Gulf area, the Directorate Normal of Maritime Administration (DGMA), by means of DGMA Round No. 36 of 2026, has directed Ship House owners, Ship Managers and RPSL Corporations to keep away from deploying Indian seafarers on vessels endeavor voyages by means of the Strait of Hormuz till additional orders,” the Directorate Normal of Delivery mentioned in an announcement on Wednesday.

It urged vessels working within the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and adjoining waters to keep up heightened vigil and monitor navigational warnings, and safety advisories.

“Masters of vessels working within the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and adjoining waters shall keep a heightened degree of safety vigilance, constantly monitor navigational warnings, safety advisories and updates issued by the competent authorities, and implement all relevant Ship Safety Measures, Ship Safety Plans (SSP) and Firm Safety Procedures in accordance with the ISPS Code,” the advisory added.

The event comes because the tensions have soared in West Asia following the assault by US Central Command on Iranian targets. The strikes have met with retaliation from Tehran, which launched continued assault at US services within the Gulf area. US President Donald Trump has introduced a blockade of the Hormuz for Iranian ships.

Not too long ago, an Indian seafarer went lacking after a Cyprus-flagged ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz was focused by Iran. His demise was later confirmed by the household on Tuesday. As many as 13 Indian sailors have died within the area for the reason that US-Iran warfare started since February 28.
