The Union Cupboard on Wednesday accredited the development of a 4-lane Nationwide Freeway-927 from Barabanki to Bahraich, protecting a distance of 101.5 km, in Uttar Pradesh.
The challenge, a part of the Lucknow-Rupaidiha hall, shall be developed on Hybrid Annuity Mannequin (HAM) at a price of Rs 6,969 crore.
Ministry of Street Transport and Highways (MoRTH) officers stated that the proposed upgradation of the Barabanki-Bahraich part of NH-927 will deal with geometric deficiencies, sharp curves, and congestion in built-up areas throughout Barabanki and Bahraich districts. Designed as an access-controlled 4-lane freeway with steady service roads, the challenge will bypass main habitations, improve common journey speeds and scale back journey time to about one hour.
Officers stated that upon completion, the challenge will strategically set up a significant cross-border commerce and transit hall between India and Nepal through the Nepalgunj border and enhance entry to the Rupaidiha Land Port. It should additionally improve connectivity to distant districts akin to Bahraich and Shravasti, they added.
