ICF to roll out two extra 16-coach Vande Bharat Sleeper rakes by March-end

Vande Bharat Sleeper prepare: The Chennai-based Integral Coach Manufacturing unit (ICF) is planning to roll out two extra Vande Bharat Sleeper trains by March 2026. At current, two Vande Bharat Sleeper companies are operational on the Indian Railways (IR) community, working on the Howrah-Guwahati route.

Talking to Indianexpress.com, MG Shanker, Public Relations Officer (PRO), ICF stated: “We’ll roll out 2 extra by subsequent month.”

The nation’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper prepare was designed by ICF and manufactured at BEML options 16 coaches, together with 11 Third AC, 4 Second AC, and 1 First AC.  It was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 17, 2026.

ICF to fabricate 24-coach Vande Bharat Sleeper prepare

ICF will even manufacture 50 rakes of 24-coach Vande Bharat Sleeper trains. The prototype of the primary rake is anticipated to be rolled out by the tip of 2026. This new rake could have extra passenger carrying capability with higher onboard service. It’ll have 17 third AC, 5 second AC and one first AC coaches.
