The Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) on Sunday condemned the assault on a industrial vessel off Oman coast and mentioned 10 Indian nationals aboard the ship have been rescued, whereas one was reported lacking.
In an announcement, the MEA expressed considerations over the continued assault on vessels in West Asia and known as for quick de-escalation.
“We condemn the assault on the industrial vessel GFS Galaxy off the coast of Oman, earlier at present. Of the 11 Indian nationals on board, 10 have been rescued to date, whereas 1 Indian Nationwide is reportedly lacking. Our Embassy in Oman is carefully monitoring the scenario and proactively coordinating with the Omani authorities within the ongoing Search and Rescue operation. We thank the Omani authorities for his or her help,” the MEA mentioned in an announcement.
“The persevering with incidents of assaults on industrial transport within the area are deeply worrisome. We reiterate our name for quick de-escalation of tensions, and the conclusion of ongoing negotiations for a diplomatic answer in order that peace and stability can return to the area,” it added.
