Padma awards 2026: See full record of awardees as President Murmu presents honours
President Droupadi Murmu on Monday introduced Padma awards to 66 recipients on the first civil investiture ceremony for 2026. The ceremony was held within the Ganatantra Mandap of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Among the prime awardees included late legendary actor Dharmendra, promoting legend late Piyush Pandey, ladies’s cricket staff captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
A teary eyed Hema Malini, MP and spouse of late actor Dharmendra obtained the award on his behalf.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, vp CP Radhakrishnan and Union residence minister Amit Shah had been among the many prime attendees on the ceremony.
For the 12 months 2026, the President authorised conferment of 131 Padma awards together with 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri awards.
The remaining Padma awardees will likely be conferred within the second spherical of the ceremony to be held later, information company PTI reported, citing sources.
The awards are introduced on the event of the Republic Day yearly.
The coveted civilian honours are given in numerous fields — artwork, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, commerce and trade, drugs, literature and schooling, sports activities, civil service, and many others.
