A petition has been filed within the Supreme Courtroom for ‘pressing’ elimination of IPS Ajay Pal Sharma as police observer from poll-bound Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district, HT has learnt. the petition phrases Sharma as ‘extremely partisan and performing opposite to the position prescribed to him.’

The petition, seen by HT, alleged that Sharma upon assuming his cost because the police observer “engaged in acts of intimidation, undue affect, and partisan conduct, together with threats directed at political candidates”.
